About Ardmore Crossing Welcome to Ardmore, Pennsylvania, a town that showcases the "Art of Main Line Living." Located in Lower Merion Township, on the prestigious Main Line of Philadelphia, Ardmore is an intimate town that 13,000 residents call home. A creative combination of old estate, modern construction, upscale retail venues, quaint sepcialty shoppes and fine dining, Ardmore is the place to live for all lifestyles.

Originally named Athensville, Ardmore is rich in history. The business and commercial district has played a pivotal role in the area's economy and the downtown core displays architecturally-detailed buildings which evolved at the turn-of-the century. Several merchants have operated businesses since the town's inception, and there are even some businesses dating back to the late 1800's that are still open for business in Ardmore today.

Shopping, all kinds, is at a premium in Ardmore. The Township boasts Suburban Square, one of the country's oldest and most exclusive shopping centers. Set in a "village" atmosphere, the Square is most known for its upscale and diverse experience offering patrons an array of local and national retailers. Additionally, the Square serves as the town center, hosting a variety of special community events throughout the seasons. The Square is also home to Ardmore's train station.

Ardmore, Lower Merion Township, was settled in 1682 by Welsh Quakers who were granted the land by William Penn. In 1900, the Township was incorporated as a Township of First Class. Today, Lower Merion Township and its residents remain committed to preserving the natural beauty and character of this quaint town located in the heart of the Main Line.
