Microstation
Upgrading to Microstation (2 days) pre-requisites: general knowledge of Microstation.
Present's what's new with Microstation 95 versus Version 5. Designed with the experienced Microstation Version 5 user in mind, this course steps through the new features of Microstation 95 and reviews existing features within the new graphic user interface.
Essential Microstation (4 days) pre-requisites: general drafting experience is recommended.
For the new Microstation user, this course builds a solid foundation in the concepts and features of Microstation 95. This is accomplished by covering such topics as drawing setup, design issues, drawing manipulation, detailing issues and final output. Interspersed throughout are simulated design problems the student is likely to encounter in their work environment.
Mastering Accudraw (1 day) pre-requisites: knowledge of Microstation.
Introduced with Microstation 95, Accudraw represents a new way of designing with Microstation. Positioned as a preface to Productive Microstation and Everything 3-D, this course explores all of the capabilities of Accudraw with emphasis on productivity and problem solving. Incorporates Accudraw's 2D and 3D capabilities and is an excellent introduction to Microstations 3D environment.
Productive Microstation (3 days) prerequisites:general knowledge of Microstation. Completion of the Mastering Accudraw course is highly recommended.
For the Seasoned Microstation user, this course is designed to enhance Microstation productivity. Topics covered include: advanced elements (example: NURBS based curves), dimension driven design, workspaces, setting groups, custom line styles, advanced patterning, plotting issues including pen table development, cell issues, advanced text manipulation, in-depth dimensioning, advanced tags, reference files and other features.
Everything 3-D (4 days) pre-requisites: general knowledge of Microstation. Completion of the Mastering Accudraw course is highly recommended.
For experienced users, this course explores Microstation's 3-D capability in detail. Covers every concept and tool used in Microstation's 3_D environment including 3-D Primitives, surfaces, and 3_d view control. Includes discussion on using Drawing Composition and an introduction to Microstation Rendering.
Introduction to Microstation BASIC (1 day) pre-requisites: general knowledge of Microstation.
Designed as a quick look at the capabilities of MicroStation's latest programming facility, this course takes the non-programmer through the BASIC development environment with an emphasis on day-to-day activity automation. By using a familiar design problem, in this case the creation of a north arrow, the student experiences the different features of the MicroStation BASIC environment. This includes a look at the industry standard BASIC features as well as those specific to MircoStation. At its conclusion, the student will have a basic understanding of the capabilities of this new productivity tool.
Programming with MicroStation BASIC (4 days) pre-requisites: general knowledge of MircorStation programming highly suggested.
A true user level programming class, this course will cover the development of BASIC programs for use in a production environment. It covers MicroStation BASIC specifically for increased user productivity. The course focuses on essential BASIC programming skills as well as in-depth discussion about MicroStation-specific enhancements. A special discussion on conversion of user commands to MSBASIC is included.
Managing MicroStation (4 days) pre-requisites: Intimate knowledge of MicroStation. Collateral experience in CAD project management is highly recommended.
Developed by seasoned CAD managers for the person new to MicroStation management, this course provides a background on key management topics. These include installation and configuration issues, discussions about troubleshooting and user training, developing and implementing company standards and other management issues. Included are discussions on automation via the various customizable features of MicroStation.
Moving to MicroStation (3 days) pre-requisites: Previous CAD experience with any CAD product is necessary.
For experienced, non-MicroStation CAD users, this course is designed to streamline the migration to MicroStation. To this end, this course explores common CAD concepts and terminology. It also presents methods for maintaining legacy data. Included are discussions on data conversion and how to maintain a multiple CAD vendor operation environment.
PowerDraft
Essential PowerDraft (3 days) pre-requisites: general drafting experience is recommended.
For the new PowerDraft user, this course builds a good foundation in the concepts and features of PowerDraft. This is accomplished by covering such topics as 2D drawing setup, design issues, drawing manipulation, detailing issues and final output. Interspersed throughout are simulated design problems the student is likely to encounter in their work environment.
Productive PowerDraft (2 days) pre-requisites: general knowledge of MicroStation.
For the user with some PowerDraft experience, this course picks up where Essential PowerDraft leaves off. User begins to apply the basic knowledge of PowerDraft tools to drawing production.
MasterPiece
Visualizing with MciroStation and MasterPiece (3 days) pre-requisites: MicroStation 3D design experience (Everything 3D course is highly recommended).
A three part course that explores MicroStation's intrinsic visualization capabilities first. This includes tips and tricks for exceptional still images as well as basic animation tools and techniques. Discussion on texture maps and material tables will bridge both MicroStation and MasterPiece. The latter portion of this course explores the capabilities of MasterPiece, starting with the enhancements to still image output. The final topic will be MasterPiece's animation enhancements and will include final output options.
Modeler
Modeler for MicroStation Users (3 days) pre-requisites: general knowledge of MicroStation.
This three day course is designed for the MicroStation savvy user who has accumulated strong 3D skills. It contrasts the solid model approach to design against the traditional wireframe technique.
