Subject: Re: Hello from us in the U.S.
We would be more than happy to send you our releases, however; currently they are available only on cassette and mini-disc. I doubt you have a mini-disc player ... how soon before cassettes are available to you? As soon as you can use it, i'll send it. In the mean time, attached is our catalog, so you can see what we are about.
... time passes ....
I was just thinking -- if it's legal, why not make a trade? I don't think the ruble (is that how you spell it?) is doing so hot in the exchange markets. But, maybe vodka for a tape deck?
Umh, you've made me really upset. How could we arrange such swap ? Any ideas ? What quantity of Russian vodka might cover your expenses ? It's all of a sudden but I love the idea - if only we could proceed it..
By the way, I wondered what indy meant for a long time, too -- independent. You know? Not a major label, but an independent record label ... they don't come much more independent than us.
To my better understanding *indy* means stuff that do not force one getting bored, and the degree of *nonboredom* differs for every person. And of coz I do not like to listen to offensive - for me personally- stuff, I can't dig all those airheads shouting 'fuckoffyoumothermotherfucker' et al - seems like those morons simply lack of any good vocabulary, even me foreigner might learn more synonims while reading couple of books. Everyone has its own definition and in most cases he/she listen to production of labels that match his own understanding if *indy*
It's quite messy answer of coz, I do realise that.
Peace.
What type of power supply would a tape deck be running on? Could you convert 110 ac to your Russian variety? What about connections? Would standard RCA plugs (or as some people call them phono plugs) be acceptable?
You know, I thought about this deal and decided I'd better decline your kind offer - too much inconvenience involved. Speaking of $200-400, I might be able to buy quite decent deck in Moscow if only I have such a sum; and you probably can't imagine all troubles with these quantity of vodka in bottles and its transferring to any place, it's out of question, post chics simply will refuse to pack it etc, and if even they'll agree to perform this a fee will be unliftable, the cost of deal will be increased incredibly.
To say the truth, I thought you were just kidding about all that vodka, eh ?
Several weeks back, I went to one of our suppliers -- World Wide Stereo of Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania to see if they would be interested in sponsoring the tape deck. Though I have personally given them thousands of dollars in business, they didn't even have the courtesy to respond to either my phone call or letter. So,
