The Bose Acoustimass 5 Series II speaker system uses both Acoustimass
speaker technology and Direct/Reflecting® speaker technology to create a system that delivers lifelike, spacious sound while
blending into your listening area.
The secret is in the patented Acoustimass module, a product of Bose research and development.
Designed to be hidden almost anywhere in your room, the Acoustimass module itself hides some remarkable technology
on the inside. Through its configuration, bass is launched into
the room on an air mass, rather than from a vibrating speaker
cone. This, combined with the filtering effect of the enclosure's
design, eliminates audible distortion. And when there's no distortion,
bass is non-localizable in your room -- you can't tell where it's
coming from. That's why the Acoustimass module can be placed almost
anywhere -- behind a chair, under a couch -- and all the music
appears to come from the tiny cube arrays.
