The Tempest
Do You Really Believe The Same Loudspeaker Can Work Just As Well Outdoors as Indoors?
Neither do We!
Introducing the Tempest Indoor/Outdoor Equalization Switch.
One Flick For Indoors...
And all the sound qualities you'd expect in an indoor speaker. An Energy Hyperdome tweeter offers wide dispersion and low distortion. For extended frequency response and faithful reproduction of ambience and musical detail.
The injection molded woofer is made from a unique composite material developed specifically by
Energy. It's 5 1/4" cone has a nitril rubber surround. That means extra smooth response, controlled upper range rolloff and tight dispersion in the critical midrange. Not to mention superb transparency and imaging over an extended soundstage. Welcome to the great indoors!
Another Flick for Outdoors...
And enjoy that same incredible sound. For all the same reasons. The difference? Improved bass. Equalized for outdoors. Clean and undistorted with a smooth midrange and instant musical response. What wonders the flick of a finger can do!
And, of course, this indoor speaker not only sounds good outdoors, it's been dressed up for outdoors too. Its triangular shape fits nicely into a corner, under an eave or anywhere else you want it to hang in (or hang out). Available in black or white, it has a unique and flexible mounting system that lets you hang it up, down or sideways.
It's rugged, non-resonant cabinet is weatherproof; sealed to keep out moisture. The grille and bracket are aluminum to stop rust. The Tempest is also paintable, and is designed to comply with the rigid MIL-STD-833D specification for resistance to the rigors of extreme climates. That's guarenteed. To be certain, all the hardware is brass. And Energy adds even more protection with a TPR cover over the terminals and switch.
Inside we've got the weather covered too. Out Dual Hyperdome tweeter and the woofer cone's nitril rubber surround are weather resistant. The 5-way binding posts are also gold-plated to resist corrosion. Welcome to the great outdoors!
