Runco’s
DTV-991 builds on the IDP-980 in three key areas;
brightness, resolution and color fidelity. The DTV-991 is
about 10% brighter and offers slightly higher resolution
over earlier 8 inch tube designs. The 991Ultra which is
retrofitted with large aperture all glass lenses produces
extremely sharp and highly detailed images. The new 991
series also incorporates Runco’s newest enhancement
to color fidelity; Runco’s AccuChroma color
filtering of the Red and Green tubes. Both the DTV-991
and the 991Ultra are fully HDTV capable as are all Runco
data grade projectors. Additional improvements to the
Gamma Table further improve the color fidelity of the 991
series over previous 8 inch designs. With a horizontal
scanning frequency of up to 75 kHz the DTV-991 can handle
most computer graphics applications, and the 991 Ultra
which scans up to 110kHz will accommodate virtually any
high resolution computer graphics applications. New
features include Automatic White Balance and Contrast
Modulation. The Automatic White Balance feature
automatically monitors and adjusts the color temperature
of the CRTs ensuring proper gray scale tracking. Contrast
Modulation allows the user to adjust the Contrast level
at various different areas of the screen helping to keep
a uniform white level across the entire area of the
screen.
