Our Stealthbox designs for the
Honda DelSol, Ford Ranger and GM Trucks exemplify the advantages of the
Stealthbox concept in vehicles that are very difficult to build conventional
enclosures for. With some of our other designs, like the Ford Explorer,
GM Tahoe/Yukon and Dodge Intrepid Stealthboxes, you can have awe-inspiring
JL Audio sub-bass without sacrificing the interior space for which you bought
the vehicle.
The main breakthrough that makes all this possible is fiberglass construction.
This allows Stealthboxes to take advantage of box volume that would be wasted
with conventional wood construction while retaining extremely high enclosure
rigidity for superior bass performance. The design of the enclosures can
curve around difficult shapes that would be impossible to follow with common
materials, taking advantage of the space available in the nooks and crannies
of the vehicle's interior. Installation is typically accomplished with one
or two bolts for a safe and solid end result.
However, the only thing more important to us than how a Stealthbox integrates
into a car is how it sounds in that car. The fact that Stealthbox enclosures
are vehicle-specific allows for the most precise optimization ... the ability
to tweak the response of the subwoofer system to provide the best fidelity
when combined with that particular vehicle's acoustical characteristics.
It is like having JL Audio's engineering resources at your disposal to design
and build a custom enclosure for your car.
The models you will see here are only the beginning. The Stealthbox Project
is continuing to develop new models for challenging vehicles. |
